One more sleep!

Right now my Grandma Dina and Granddad Phil will be on the plane from England! Only one more sleep until they arrive. In the morning mummy and daddy and me will go to the airport to pick them up. So exciting. Mummy and daddy have been getting things ready and I have been supervising their efforts. Daddy has all their itineraries printed off and we have set up their bed in my room. Since last week we have done all sorts of other things as well. Mummy and I went to the hardware store to get an attachment for the bathroom tap so we can fill my baby bath up easily. We also went to Uncle Todd's birthday breakfast and you can see a pic of me here with Uncle Ray and Liz. We met up with Nell and my little friend Finn on one day, and another day we visited mummy's work for the first time. We also went to see mummy's midwife and we brought her a box of chocolates and a photo of me. I've had lots of cuddles this week! Everyone says I am getting very big and I look just like my daddy. They also say I am very alert and very smiley. I am in 00 clothes now and am quickly growing out of all my very little 0000 and 000 clothes! Mummy has a bag where she keeps all my favourite clothes that I grow out of. This week we got a lovely present from Aunty Nerissa of a photo frame with a lovely photo of yours truly in it. Mummy is so tired that at first she didn't realise it was me and she nearly said to daddy, "That baby looks exactly like Ethan!". This week I also started making a new babbling noise. I've been babbling for weeks now, but this is a new one and mummy finds it very cute. I also like to dribble. Well, this is a short one today but no doubt I will have lots of news over the next few weeks about my adventures with Grandma and Granddad. Till then, love Ethan x x

One week to go!

I'm so excited today because it is only one week until my Grandma and Granddad arrive from England!! I can't wait to see them and we are going to have so much fun. It will be so fun going up to Byron Bay and seeing Nanu and Lucille as well. And then we get to go to the Hunter Valley with Grandma Sue as well and also hopefully see Aunty Nerissa and Eric. I will be counting down the sleeps until Grandma and Granddad get here, and I can't wait to meet them at the airport. Since my last post I've been super busy. I went with mummy to her uni where she spoke on a panel, and I got lots of cuddles from her old lecturers. Mummy enjoyed showing me around her uni. On Tuesday I met up with my friend Charlie and his mum Jade, and we sat in the park for a little while, and yesterday mummy and I went to mother's group and we saw all my other little friends. I am the second biggest in the group, there is one boy named Oliver who is bigger than me. After mother's group mummy and I sat in the shade on the grass by the beach and I stared at the trees swaying in the wind. I also had some tummy time and practiced my rolling over (which I can't yet do by myself). This week I have really found my hands and aside from just sucking on them I now like to look at them and I find them quite amazing. Yesterday I nearly managed to pick up a rattle rather than just shoving it into my mouth with my forearms! I'm also really enjoying my baby gym that uncle Noel gave me (as you can see in the photo). Till next time x x

12 weeks old!

Hello everyone! Today I am 12 weeks old. Mummy and Daddy are proud as punch. I'm getting the hang of life outside mummy's tummy and living with mummy and daddy is pretty good. I spend my days eating, playing and sleeping, and I make sure I give mummy and daddy a poo present every day which they just love cleaning up! This week they accidentally bought nappies that are nearly too small for me, which I find very funny indeed. My day goes something like this: wake up at about 5 or 6am and mummy brings me into bed with her and daddy and they sleep for a bit longer. Sometimes I sleep too or sometimes I just wriggle and chat next to them while staring at my favourite thing - the ceiling fan. I can't get enough of it. Then daddy goes to work or to sleep, and mummy and I have breakfast and watch the breakfast news. I sit in my favourite spot in the corner of the couch, usually babbling away or sucking my hands. After that we usually go out somewhere to visit friends or go to an appointment or go shopping. Sometimes we go in daddy's big black car and sometimes we go in the pram on the bus. In the car I sit in my special capsule and I love looking out the window. I love the movement of the car and the bus and sometimes I cry when we stop at the lights, which amuses the other passengers on the bus. By the afternoon we are home and I might have a little sleep. I usually don't sleep for very long during the day, about half an hour at a time several times a day, but occasionally I'll have a longer snooze. If daddy has been at work he'll come home or if asleep he'll wake up, and then I have lots of cuddles with him, which I love. For the last two weeks at about 7pm mummy will get my bath ready and I have a lovely, lovely bath. I love the warm water and I'm like a little fish kicking and wriggling about. Mummy had to get a bigger bath because I've outgrown the other one that Uncle Ray and Liz gave me. After my bath mummy wraps me up and dries me off, then it's into my PJ's and off to bed. I'm very good at going to bed and sometimes mummy only has to put me in my cot and I go off to sleep, but most nights I need a little more help and mummy will rock me and say "shhhhh" and then I drift off. I sleep like the proverbial baby and I wake up two or three times during the night for a feed. All in all it's a pretty good life and I am a very happy little baby. I'll post again soon and tell you more. For now, I'll leave you with this pic of me out and about yesterday. Lots of love, Ethan x x
